Míting-smíting! - Meeting-Shmeeting!

When a man turns forty-three he looks around, perhaps even checks the actuarial tables and nods: yup, halfway done; the uphill part is over, it's all downhill from here. But being over the hill is not all bad: this is the age when one starts to collect the rewards for one's major life achievements.
In my case, the achievement is having endured weekly train trips to New York every godforsaken Wednesday since January. The reward for it is "Select Plus" membership, with amazing perks like free coffee. And I could even use my points for free trips to exotic locations -- like New York! Of course the real perk I receive for getting up at 4 every Wednesday morning and not getting home until 9 in the evening is that (bilingual readers will enjoy this) the meetings themselves are so rewarding: dedicated people gather together in a beautifully appointed conference room and brainstorm about the best way to leverage the internet paradigm in order to serve our customers and ultimately bring value to the shareholders. And frankly, I don't mind taking the train, because even though it's less convenient than flying, it saves money for the company, and a penny saved is a penny earned.
